Iranian nuke threat takes center stage at Bush-Sharon Crawford Meet
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon discussed Teheran’s nuclear program with President Bush.
Meeting President Bush at Crawford Ranch, Sharon warned Iran is closer than most Western countries think to creating a
nuclear weapon, and said that diplomatic efforts to persuade Teheran to abandon it’s nuclear program were allowing the
Iranians to secretly advance their nuclear program.

The Iranian nuclear threat took center stage in a meeting between Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and U.S. Vice President Dick
Cheney in Washington Tuesday.
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has used his visit to Washington to call on senior Bush administration officials to impose sanctions on Iran.
After presenting Israel’s intelligence assessment on the matter to President Bush in Texas, Sharon asked Cheney to push the United Nations Security Council to impose sanctions on Iran Sharon has already presented Israel’s intelligence assessment on the matter in his meeting with President Bush in Texas,
and took the opportunity to address several strategic issues during the session with Cheney.
The prime minister warned that understandings formulated by Europe and the international community in their dealings with
Teheran allow the Iranians to secretly advance their nuclear program.
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon presented President George W. Bush with the latest Israeli intelligence assessments of Iran's
nuclear weapons program, and called on Bush to step up the diplomatic efforts to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear
bomb.
Sharon's aides said that Israel is not initiating or leading an offensive against Iran but that Israel
and the U.S. are partners in the struggle against its nuclear threat, Israel Radio said. Sharon has characterized his 11th visit to the U.S. as more successful than any of the previous ones.
